Let us implement a new way of protest.
It is time for teachers organization to innovate instead of falling into the old style of boycotting kind of protests that have stopped giving us results. Many a times in the recent past we are left to manage a rotten and unimplementable system imposed on us only because we kept on boycotting the opportunities that were given to us to customize the system according to our convenience.
Now that the University has refused to listen to our just demands for stopping the open book exams we shouldn’t think of giving a call to boycott paper setting. Even continuing with our principled opposition on OBE we as teachers must not run away from our primary responsibility to take care of the interest of all students in this hour of crisis.
Instead of thinking of giving a call by DUTA to boycott paper setting, a call should be given to the teachers asking all the teachers to participate in the exercise to set as straightforward questions as possible. The message should be clear that teachers must ensure that papers are not set as per the requirements of a normal open book examination wherein the University is also asking teachers to not set straightforward questions.
Let us not create problems for at least those who would be making a hell out of efforts to appear in this useless exercise called OBE.
